 To determine whether the fabric contains CP flame retarder (PYROVATEX CP technology), laboratory testing and process analysis should be combined. The specific methods can be divided into the following three categories:

I. Chemical detection and analysis

The presence of CP flame retardants can be confirmed by detecting whether the fabric contains characteristic peaks of phosphor-nitrogen groups that are unique to CP flame retardants. As an organophosphorus compound, the P-O-C bond in the chemical structure of CP flame retardant will present a specific absorption band in the infrared spectrum.

The contents of phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N) elements in fabrics were detected by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF) or atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). CP flame retardant with phosphorus as the main active ingredient, if the phosphorus content is significantly higher than that of ordinary fabric, can be preliminily determined to contain this kind of flame retardant
